My Story

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. As a little girl I would sit out at the end of our driveway trying to sell pretty rocks I'd found. As you can tell from my display, I still like rocks, and the dream of owning my own business has finally become a reality!

Inspired by my Aunt Terri and her sisters in Minnesota, "Creations by Cami" started as a simple hobby—making my own accessories and gifts for friends and family, and evolved into a thriving business over the past nine years. In April 2011, I resigned from my full-time position at a local non-profit organization to pursue my business exclusively. I'm happily married to a wonderful man, Michael, and we have two precious children--Hunter and Hannah.

Since my designs are so diverse, people often ask where I get my beads and components. My answer: "All over!" I love to travel and make a point to visit the local bead stores wherever my destination may be. I also enjoy finding vintage pieces at garage sales and thrift stores and recycling the beads into cool new creations. I'm always looking for unique things and most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind. I also do a lot of custom work, especially for weddings.

Personalized, hand-crafted jewelry makes a meaningful gift for bridesmaids and flower girls. I also bead Mother's and Grandmother's bracelets with children's names or initials and birthstone crystals. I like having about a month's notice for special orders.

I've developed a lot of regular customers who buy from me. Some ladies will call me up and say, "So-and-so's birthday is this week...I need a gift! Can I swing by and pick something out?" Although I don't keep my jewelry on display between shows, I'm always glad to pull some things out for those spontaneous mid-week sales. I'm also available for home shows—where a lady invites her friends to shop from my jewelry displayed in her home, and receives some free pieces of her choice in exchange for hosting me.
